"Grief-stricken friends of Mildred Beaubrun, the teen shot to death when she rebuffed the advances of several men who followed her car after a night of clubbing, gathered Wednesday night for a candlelight vigil in her memory.
Beaubrun, 19, of west Orange County died Tuesday at Orlando Regional Medical Center after she was declared brain-dead and life support machines were turned off. The shooting happened May 19 at John Young Parkway and Princeton Street in Orlando -- also the site of the vigil. About two dozen people, including some who did not know Beaubrun but were touched by her story, paid their respects." (Continue)
Another senseless crime that leaves a family mourning. When are we going to realize that we need to stop killing each other over the small things. Its unfortunate that her family has to suffer because of ignorance. This is a situation that should not be taken lightly. Mildred is not the first female victimized by ignorant men in the streets. The streets are not safe anymore, before you could go out and have good clean fun. Now there is always one ignorant guy that will ruin the night by calling you a B&*^H or a ho and damn near try to fight you because he is embarassed in front of his homeboys. They always have to prove a point and belittle you because they feel stupid. This crime was senseless and I hope and pray that they find the monsters that murdered Mildred.
My heart goes out to this family... You are in my prayers.
